The Springfield, MO Chess Club (SMCC) will have it’s first meeting since Covid on Friday May 7, 2021 at the Southside Senior Center at 7:30.
My hope is that we will have enough scholastic (k-12) players to start a scholastic ladder tournament and scholastic club championship.
Kids playing in the regular club ladder would still qualify for a scholastic championship by being among the top scholastic finishers.
Remember also that kids who are active at the Springfield, MO Chess Club, and don’t have a school club they can play for, can join the SMCC’s tournament team once the Southwest Missouri Scholastic Chess League starts up again.
I hope lots of scholastic players will join us as over-the-board chess gets up and running again.
